Free Praxis 5001 Practice Test — Find Your Weak Subtest
The Praxis 5001 is four separate tests — and it passes you on all of them or none. Most people study them like one exam and find out too late which one was the weakest. Learndiag turns free practice into an honest readiness score, a plan for your actual weak spots, and a forecast of how close you are to the pass.
It's not one test. It's four gates, in sequence.
Every subtest has its own passing score. Score high on math and fail science — you don't pass, you retake science (full price, 28 days later). Most candidates discover the weak one only after the score report arrives.
This is not a niche fear. A majority of first-time elementary teacher candidates fail the most widely used licensure exam, and its first-time pass rate sits below the bar exam. Some candidates sit for it eleven times.
Free practice is the bait. The system is the catch.
Practice free, on the real blueprint
A free question bank organized by the four subtests — same categories, same weights as the official Study Companion. No paywall on the questions themselves.
Get a readiness score, not a vague percentage
Your answers map to each subtest's categories. Learndiag converts them to an estimated scaled score and tells you where you sit against your state's passing line.
A plan built for your weakest gate
Study time goes where the gap is — 60% on the subtest most likely to fail you, not equal effort across all four.
Track it like a training program
Progress, retake-readiness, and a study schedule that updates as you improve. No more guessing in the last two weeks.
Cheaper than one retake. Far cheaper than eleven.

Is the Praxis 5001 practice test free?
Yes. The full question bank and the 12-question readiness diagnostic are free with no signup required. Logging in at the end of the diagnostic is optional and unlocks your full report and study plan.
What is on the Praxis 5001?
The Praxis 5001 (Elementary Education: Multiple Subjects) is four separately scored subtests: 5002 Reading & Language Arts, 5003 Mathematics, 5004 Social Studies, and 5005 Science. You must pass all four.
How long does the Praxis 5001 diagnostic take?
About eight minutes. The diagnostic draws 12 original questions at random — 3 from each of the four subtests.
Does the diagnostic tell me my weakest subtest?
Yes. It estimates a scaled score for each subtest, compares it to state passing lines, and identifies the gate most likely to fail you so you know where to study.
What score do I need to pass the Praxis 5001?
Passing lines are set by each state, not by ETS, and they differ per subtest — most states require between 139 and 159 on each of the four gates. The Praxis 5001 passing scores by state table lists the exact qualifying scores for 5002, 5003, 5004, and 5005 and tells you which states use the exam.
How is this different from grinding random practice questions?
Volume alone doesn't raise a score when the questions don't match the blueprint. Every Learndiag item is original, tagged by subtest category, and explained — start with the free practice questions. The diagnostic then converts your pattern of answers into an estimated scaled score per subtest, your weakest gate, and a plan that puts study time where the gap is.
How is the estimated score calculated?
Each of the 12 questions maps to a subtest category. Your accuracy per subtest is converted into an estimated scaled score on the 100–200 scale ETS reports, and the gap between that estimate and your state's passing line becomes your readiness signal and study plan.
Is Learndiag affiliated with ETS?
No. Learndiag is an independent study tool, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ETS. Praxis is a trademark of ETS.
